Weekly Notes 20/2026
«We are in Thrissur. We left at around 2 AM and reached by 11 AM, with two breaks. The drive was comfortable. The traffic was friendly this time. Echo is getting old, and Uma is more active now. So…»
IndieWebClub is part of a growing world-wide network of meetups for everyone who wants to take back their web experience from social media silos, and own their online identities & content, or just want support with blogging!
The IndieWebClub Bangalore community organizes in-person meetups at a roughly two-week cadence in the city of Bangalore, India.
You can join us on WhatsApp or Discourse. You can follow our blogroll and event updates on Mastodon. You can also reach out to us via email.
This will be a tech and design focused session. We’ll co-work on our personal websites, try new designs, squash bugs, or just do some long-neglected digital housekeeping.
If you don’t have any programming experience, don’t worry! We’ll help you with any technical questions you might have about building your personal website, blog, or participating on the IndieWeb. If possible, we’ll pair you up with a buddy who can help you out with the technical and design side of web development.
Bring:
Your laptop (+ charger)
Ideas for new features/designs you want to add to your website (or just a list of enhancements you want to make)
If you’re new to programming, come with questions so we can find you answers!
As usual, we will end the meetup with a writing prompt and a focused writing session.
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of IndieWebClub Bangalore, we’re doing something special this month. We’re organizing a Special Edition meetup where we invite you, the community, to present, demo, and showcase lightning talks!
Talks will be limited to 8 minutes, 15 talks in total. Feel free to submit as many talks as you have ideas, and we’ll work together to pick something exciting.
We would especially love to hear from you if you’re a non-technical user of the IndieWeb. We would also love to hear from you if you’re part of a marginalized community, a student, or if you haven’t spoken at a conference or meetup before.
This CFP will be open until midnight, 16 May 2026. If your talk is selected, we will get in touch with you and ask you to do a pre-meetup rehearsal with us over a video call. We do this to make sure talks meet our community standards and our speakers are ready to present on the day of the meetup.
We’ll announce selected talks on a rolling basis, with a final schedule released by 22 May.
Submit your talk ideas here.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at blr+se@indiewebclub.org or DM one of the organizers.
